Like many, the COVID-19 Pandemic impacted my career. Despite the hardship, I wwas able to transition my skills as an educator into the tech industry at Justworks, an online HR & Payroll platform for small businesses.
At Justworks, I work with a book of business of 40+ clients in a wide variety of fields from brick-and-morter shops to cutting-edge tech start-ups. Our mission is to allow entrepreneurs and creators do what they do best, while we handle or help with all of the other headaches of running a business.

My role as an Account Manager is to support individual companys' administrators by acting as a one-stop-shop for any inquiries they have. This includes troubleshooting and platform-based questions, but I am also a resource for guidance regarding HR, compliance, taxes, insurance and ever-changing local and federal workplace laws. If you have a question about running your business, I can get you the right resources to make an informed decision!

Entering this industry was a steep and quick learning-curve, but I was able to be fully ramped in my role earlier than anticipated.
This role exercises my ability to assess, prioritize, and manage situations, many of which are high-impact. The work is fast-paced, requiring me to track and follow up on many different requests simultaneously. I am responsble for keeping customers and internal teams in-the-loop, communicating accurately and efficiently, and managing expectations until a speedy resolution is reached. My skills as an educator and my core value of empathy allow me to approach sensitive topics like health insurance with grace and humanity.
I have also developed new practical skills, including in-depth familiarity with account and project management platforms like Zendesk, Jira, and Confluence. I also completed the Carnegie's Service Excellence Training and consistently receive excellent ratings and reviews from both customers and our Quality Assurance team.
She uses language that is very clear and easy to understand, which at times can be difficult with stuff like state compliance and insurance. She tells me exactly what I need to do, keeps me updated on the status of things even if she doesn't have an answer right away, and responds quickly.
